I've owned several pairs of these in the last 30 years. I used to love them. But I won't buy them again.
The last pair had rubber soles poorly glued to the leather insole. Several exposures to wet weather resulted in the soles coming loose. Regluing them never seem to work. Heavy shoes like these, with soles like these, commonly are bought for use in bad weather. It's not like I went hiking in patent leather tuxedo pumps and then complained because they didn't hold up well.
